We have been holding back in providing evidence on this blog because we earlier reached an agreement with a Vice Magazine reporter to provide them with exclusive access to our unfolding data. They may choose how much or how little and when this will be released, with the caveat that friends and associates that may be implicated in “telling the truth about the Belize Governenment”, for which they would be punished, should be out of the country and in a place of safety. After Vice publishes a segment, we will then post a fuller account in this blog.
We chose Vice, because we believe that few other news agencies would use the data in the spirit of truth. Sensationalism and deadlines rule the media, even at Vice, but Vice at least takes the time to pursue any avenue, regardless of current opinions.
Sometime this morning, Vice will publish it’s first piece based on data that we provided. We fully expect balanced reporting from Vice. We believe it will not be a one sided affair.

I wish you’d selected a magazine with a more extensive vocabulary. Vice’s vocabulary seems to be limited to words describing human excrement, body parts and sexual acts; the dreaded “f” word being a favorite.
Not everyone cares to pollute their minds with this nasty language. Poor choice, John.

Ignore this ron idiot..his brain was damaged when he was a kid..iq is -10

At least they did not sensationalize it via A-Team references…But seriously, people think its drug demand that corrupts..but that has been going on for as long as corruption..Mexico has a record of at least 100 years corruption.
I think peopel will see its not drug demand but in fact corruption itself that fuels it..
And that is not to say that there may be one or two Central American countires making changes for theircitizens in marching towards a less corrupt governance.
Hope John gets his wish to have everyone safe.

Ha ha ha! Well that settles it. Any journalistic outlet that would headline, “Where your man cums on you tells you everything about him”, has got to be an extremely open-minded one at that. Glad McAfee and friends chose Vice! Great choice IMHO.

Please do not judge my comments by the spelling mistakes. I use an ipad which auto corrects and sometimes I don’t catch it. Sure I am not alone. i.e their documentaries , not there… sorry

I knew nothing of Vice until this blog. I watched some of there documentaries and thought that they were serious and well done. i.e. doctors in Syria, the Moormans fighting the drug cartels in Mexico and several others. I think there are two sides to this magazine. They have guts and that is certainly what it will take to report this story of corruption in Belize and the journey of John and Sam. Most other MSM seem to either not have a clue, are totally controlled by their advertisors and network execs, or do not have the courage to report anything contrary to popular opnion.I hope that this is not another Josh Davis or Gizmodo journalistic approach. It may be refreshing, let’s hope.

Well, I guess we could say it is controversial! +++
December 11, 2012 at 5:12 pm
There were over 500,000 unique visitors last week. The stats came directly from WordPress
December 11, 2012 at 5:06 pm
Some people use the metric of ten views per posted message. That is biased upwards for controversial sites. A quick calc seems to imply less than 10,000 views. I hope Vice can do better …

I consider the actions of a man, precariously perched between two places – one being freedom, and the other not. I observe where he places all the eggs of proof that could exonerate him, and know truly the state of MSM journalism in the world. It couldn’t be better said …

Nothing has changed. The info will be released here, in fuller form, after each Vice Mag report. The Trust has full authority in how, and when, it wishes to realease information.
December 11, 2012 at 4:18 pm
N. Vice only has exclusive access to evidence of corruption in Belize.
December 11, 2012 at 4:14 pm
Forgive me for my ignorance-
Does this mean these exclusive rights were sold to Vice? Same question for the movie rights to Impact Future Media.
Some articles say the exclusive rights were sold, others say ‘entrusted’. Not sure if entrusted is fancy talk to sidestep the issue of profit, or if the mainstream media was embellishing.

For some, lives are droll. Others have their fifteen minutes of flame. As I drink my Costa Rican coffee (damned good, BTW John) I toast to the hope that JM has an asbestos suit lying around …

In the past Vice did an article that is not very nice, about you… How come you did choose them anyways?

Corruption is a huge hidden tax on everyone, every where in the world. We all have a fiancial stake in the out come of this case. If John succeeds in exposeing Belize Corruption in a manner that causes law to be more properly enforced, then we all win. I am intrested in seeing if the power-of-internet, can have a positive effect to reduce any corruption? Anywhere??
VICE will hopefully focus on the “corruption”???
Sensationalism will not bring justice to any one.
Time for less enternainment, and some serious reporting & results which brings a little more security into all our lives.

Their statement yesterday on the upcoming story seemed fair and reasonable enough. So I remain hopeful that what is published is indeed, “balanced”.
Just remember that “balanced” does not necessarily mandate agreement with any one person’s view, or even the majority viewpoint.

I can see that, clearly. However; I think it is imperative that Vice provide a relatively clean page for the material. Otherwise, seventy five percent of potential readers will hit the “back” button. Just saying …
December 11, 2012 at 3:45 pm
why aren’t you posting my comments on your blog?
December 11, 2012 at 3:30 pm
I hope you realize now that Vice might not have been the best choice in journalistic outlets. Seriously, their lead story for the last 2 weeks has been “Where Your Man Cums on You Tells You Everything About Him”.
December 11, 2012 at 3:26 pm
alright… whats occuring? will stay tuned and check out vice will be good to see they’re material and another perspective on the whole story. Do you think the main stream news will show any updates again as they have dropped you such as the BBC and never mentioned you again for over 10 days now?
December 11, 2012 at 3:21 pm
Good luck with that!
You seem to have a lot of faith in VICE… John’s experience with Josh wasn’t enough?
I have nothing against VICE (and I am a journalist myself, freelance) but if you expect balanced reporting and understand the term the way I do then you’re in for a disappointment…!
I also don’t think this is fair in regards to your readers… it certainly takes away a lot of the grassroots appeal this campaign used to have.
It’s also a very poor choice in terms of PR… VICE magazine? Are you joking? I guess there wasn’t a “bath salts magazine”… that’s the only thing I can think of that could possibly be worse for your (John’s) image.
Finally: it seems John has been untrue to his readers once again… he said he had established a trust that would release the data automatically if he was deported against his will… The editor confirmed it – with a different twist – saying he was instructed to release the data if you didn’t hear from him in 24h. John also stated that he would be powerless to stop it (makes sense)… Guess none of this was true? All we got was some old postings and now we are told that VICE has the exclusive on this…
With all due respect, don’t promise/say something that you know you can’t keep if you want the continued support of people from all around the world. Providing misleading information while you were on the run was questionable but quite understandable but that was then…
