Hello from John

Posted by: John McAfee , December 17, 2012

Hello readers, I apologize for my recent absence and lack of updates. Due to the terrible events at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newton Conn,  I have decided to take a few days absence from public life. I will resume with my blog activities in a few days.

Do your best to forget the name of the shooter, and remember the innocent victims of this terrible act.

Rewards have to be a believable amount as well. In a country like Belize, 25K is a lot of money. The people there are not that wealthy so if you made the reward too large, it would be unrealistic to them.

    from Mexico John,
Ken Smith has a website for people who chose to become expatrtiates and leave America. He talks about how people who leave the US can become good will ambassadors for the US. Here’s a nice little story about Belize written by my pal, Joe Bageant (who at one time called me one of his people, but a stubborn one. That’s sort of an inside joke between me and Joe, but I think Joe made an excellent good will ambassador for America. He was full of Noam Chomsky style ideology, not necessarily a bad place to be in my opinion.

But in the spirit of keeping this blog alive and well and still serving a functional purpose, I propose the following question for you to help us understand you and your reasons for keeping this blog active.

What would you have done differently if you knew all that you know now and were making the decision to become an expatriot again today. What would you have done differently and would you change anything in regards to how things turned out for you in Belize so far.

I do think Joe would have approved of your appeal to Americans who travel to Belize to help the local people and not the big name ritzy schmitzy sector of Belize, although Joe had his own problems staying in Belize and ultimately decided to leave. I don’t think he ever wrote about exactly why he left Belize but he hinted at it in one of his later essays before he ultimately returned to the US to come home to die with his family around him. But here is one of his essays on Belize.

    http://kvsmith.com/?p=850

You can find more of his essays online.

No one would force you to look back on your past experiences and explain what you would have done differently, but perhaps others who feel the need to “get away” from America might indeed find your thoughts on this subject enlightening. And by looking at what happened to you in Belize, perhaps it would offer us more insight into “Who is McAfee”.

I’m not a believer in the theory that you killed the neighbor because I’m sure you would have no need to have the stolen computer and handheld device that I think I believe I read were taken in regards to Mr. Faull.

Incidentally, I think you should up the reward for the person who can help prosecute the murderer. But it’s your money and you certainly do with it as you wish. For all I know, you could well be dead broke. But if you are as wealthy as reported in some places, $25,000 seems like a paltry figure to offer for someone who could clear your name and help the Belizean people to get a murderer off the street. On the other hand, rewards can often bring out the cranks and con-men, so perhaps a reward isn’t a good idea. What do you think? )

Thank you so much. I do think that I was strong to endure it. I agree with you that keeping two brothers apart not only is wrong, but just seems do adverse to modern day American philosophy. Ezra (the seven year old) has been to visit his brother a few times, but they do not allow me. It is so surreal.

Yes, Graceland is in Memphis, in west Tennessee. I live in east Tennessee in the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains; about a 9 hour drive from Memphis.

East Tennessee is so beautiful and the people are so friendly and kind.

I’m so sorry the legal aid in Vermont isn’t very good.

To deprive you of seeing your own son, and to deprive the two brothers from being together is cruel. You must be strong to have endured this tragedy.

I think that Tennessee is lovely though. I have been through there on the Greyhound. Isn’t that where Graceland is?

  6. Jessica Bernard

The legal aid in central Vermont is terrible. If you are poor enough to need them they consider you to be mentally ill and I think they intentionally try to drive you insane. There is a state hospital conveniently located two towns away. I went to college in Arizona.

Jessica, there’s a wonderful organization here in Tennessee called the Legal Aid Society. The attorneys with Legal Aid are some of the best, and have taken on high profile $350 an hour attorneys and won. They represent mothers like you for free if you are low income.

Check this out in Vermont and you may have such an organization there.

The Legal Aid Society is wonderful.

…and btw, the newspaper in question (Daily Mail UK) has got to be, IMHO. the most biased, incompetent, judgemental, whining rag of a newspaper I have ever had the misfortune to encounter.

Politically and socially speaking, it represents the antithesis of (at least the outward appearance of) John’s perspective on life.

It is the epitome of crap when it comes to MSM.

John, Sam, Chad, hope you are all happy, safe and healthy.

Glad you are in America, Mr. McAfee. Grievous situations. Please watch for signs of nuclear pollution, electronic attacks, and chemical attack where you are. I’m in Owen Sound, Ontario, Canada and all of our requests for military and medical assistance have been denied for two years! I reported extreme stockhom syndrome here two years ago and we still have no security near nuclear plant and harbor, and limited access to health care. RCMP refuse to investigate violent crime in our area. Many people in Canada want Steven Harper arrested; we are trying to contact the Queen of England about her possible exposure to nuclear pollution in 2009- and William and Katherine’s exposure to nuclear pollution in 2010. Enjoy your holidays as much as possible. I am very grateful that you made it safely to Miami. Take good care.

Really? You want to use this space to debate gun control? And you are right, the people who currently have the guns won’t give them up, but if you put a ban on selling large magazines, then that would at least make those weapons less deadly.
Australia doesn’t have mass shootings like we do, and they are pretty rugged people there 🙂

to SK, I agree with your advice for Jessica, especially “removing obstacles” Distance can easily be removed by any parent, but an eight year old child has no say so about what state he lives in. Sad situation for you as well as your son. Seems you have hope in Montpelier officials or someone in the state capitol..after eight years?? The longer you let this go, the slimmer your chances of ever knowing your son.

    John,

I just exited Great America Parkway, and passed the building that once was headquarters for MFE. Although the building currently hangs a leasing sign, across the street, stands the new headquarters for McAfee, tall and proud displaying your software legacy.

Much like these buildings, stand tall and proud for the work that you contributed to society. The world is a better place with you, and other pioneers that impact all of our lives on a daily basis. You still have work to do or contributions to make. Hang in there, tune out the noise, and stay focused on the end goal.

    Regards,

    JJ

Sema, I would like to tell you that gun control does nothing, it is impossible to take away the guns from the people who currently possess them, without them rebelling them. I agree that we need to control these shootings, but we should be passing the concealed weapon law, so for the times that people are trapped in this situation, they can actually defend both themselves, and the others around them.

As more becomes know about the recent school tradgty, this blog seems less important?
Soon there is going to be another divisive issue which people will angrily fight over; “USA must protect the schools by reducing guns” —versus— “Many fewer deaths if the principal would have been armed when she lunged at the gunman”.
How to best protect public gatherings is a debate for elsewhere, as the purpose of this blog is to control corruption and enable John to gain justice. Here we will see if the internet can empower an individual to positively affect a nation?
Tragedies like what happened in Connecticut, make increasing internet effectiveness more important, when it can be used to improve the living conditions of everyone everywhere. I hope John returns soon with renewed energy to continue his fight against corruption in Belize.

Jessica, I underwent a custody dispute as well. Its important that you remove all obstacles and be in the same jurisdiction as your child if you want to see him. There are ways around having to go through the legal system just to see your son. Without revealing your motives, find out which school he attends and get a job at his cafeteria to see him & talk to him. But never reveal your motive. Do this while fighting to see your child. Live in the same school district. Show him you luv him, so he can never come back to you ask why

Jessica, I’m so sorry your son was taken from you. If he’s 8 years old and you haven’t been allowed to see him for 8 years, he must have been taken from you at birth. This must be awful for you to worry so when there’s a tragedy and not be able to comfort your son; having to love him from afar.

May God bless you and your boy.

    Thank you John.
This is indeed a tragedy. It has left me saddened, especially this time of year. I had suspected that this may have been the reason that there have not been any “McAfee sighting” articles all weekend.
    .
Following along with you this past month has been a nice diversion. Researching you has been very entertaining. I find you to be fascinating, charming, and a true gentleman.
    .
I still do not understand the fixation Jeff Wise has on you. I think it started prior to the article in Fast Company, because that article was so biased.that it belonged in a tabloid.
    .
Enjoy your quiet time, though I suspect you enjoy the frenzy more.

My son lives in CT with my cousin. I have not been allowed to see him in 8 years. That is the injustice that I am fighting. He is 8 years old and goes to public school. When I heard this news I was terrified that he was a victim, but they tell me that it happened on the other side of the state.
