I can’t fathom how someone who suspects the authorities of being out to get him would allow a woman he met only 10 days earlier move in with him. He went from meeting her to her moving in within 10 days, and then “shortly after” began suspecting foul play and monitoring her communications.

Going to need additional information about why he all of a sudden began to suspect foul play.

i have lived and worked in Belize for 23 years. The country is politicaly stable and is the least corupt nation in Central America and is certainly less corupt than the USA. The real bad guys living here are the American Ex Pats running to hide there unlawfull activities in the States, from re4ading your post i would assume that you would be a likely candidate, i certainly hope that you BOYCOTT< IN TOTAL, we do not need your sort here

Just because they don’t have an extradition treaty doesn’t mean they won’t turn him over. Third world countries are like the Wild West. They do whatever they want, when they want.

It seems to me, that at the end of all the negotiation and the high profile news propagation, Belize will issue an arrest warrant (trumped up charges and evidence notwithstanding). It then becomes critical that JM choose a country that won’t extradite him. Contrary to popular wisdom, such a good decision does not necessarily include the US. In 2000, the US signed an extradition treaty with Belize, although I haven’t read the details in it.

I don’t believe is a good idea to contact the Venezuelan president, he doesn’t have that kind of influence in Guatemala.

Unfortunately fighting that much corruption is a loosing battle especially considering that all governments are corrupt. I hope McAfee makes it safely back to the USA and keeps a low profile from here on out. He is too old for this kind of drama. He is also very correct. They could kill him and I wouldn’t be surprised if they did if he goes back to Belize.
