The true Story from the Unpublished Diary of John McAfee

In a story made for Hollywood, antivirus pioneer John McAfee recently found himself at the centre of the most widely publicized manhunt in recent history. McAfee was named a “person of interest,” by police officials in Belize following the murder of his neighbor Gregory Faull.

McAfee went on the run with his 20-year-old girlfriend for three weeks before crossing the border to Guatemala. Guatemalan authorities detained him soon after entry, and fighting against deportation to Belize, McAfee was quickly swept away to the United States on a one-way flight to Miami.

Based on John McAfee’s personal diary, Running in the Background (Working Title) is the only official account of the life & times of the man himself, revealing unanswered questions & intimate secrets about his life along the way.

Orange Walk Compound burned to the ground – NOT accidental

As mentioned in an earlier post the Prime Minister of Belize Dean Oliver Barrow has enormous power and puts in to action whenever he needs to…. today was another good example ……

This afternoon my compound in Orange Walk was burned to the ground , my sources confirm that barrow was livid over the fact that my employees were acquitted of all charges last month and that an investment group was about to purchase the property ( sale was supposed to close over the next few days). Another source at the US embassy called me to confirm that the fires were not accidental…..

John McAfee talks to USA TODAY in his first extensive interview since he fled Belize to return home to the U.S.

PORTLAND, Ore. — John McAfee slides out suddenly from behind a glass door.

It’s a sun-splashed morning in the eclectic neighborhood where he now lives, and the former software mogul-turned-international fugitive needs a caffeine fix. Now.

“I have some stories and things to tell you, sir,” he says, rapping his right hand against a coffee table while nervously shifting his feet. “Do you have time for the truth?”

In his first extensive interview since he returned to U.S. soil in December, an animated McAfee agreed to meet a USA TODAY reporter at a nondescript apartment building in southeast Portland last week. For four hours, he explained his innocence, engaged in self-deprecation and eviscerated the news media for what he called exploitation.

“People ask me how did it feel to kill a man, and I can honestly tell them I wouldn’t know because I never have,” he says, gazing through piercing green eyes. McAfee is wearing a black hoodie, jeans and flip flops.

On November 11 last year, a small team from Belize’s Gang Suppression Unit – an elite police force tasked primarily with battling the country’s brutal narco-gangs – launched a night-time raid on a home in Ambergris Caye, an island in the Caribbean Sea off the Belizean coast. The small boats packed with armed men would have looked an odd sight gliding across the azure waters and sandy shoals into San Pedro, the island’s largest town and a haven for expats and foreign tourists hoping to enjoy world-class diving along the Belize Barrier Reef, far from the central American country’s roiling drug wars.

The night air was thick with humidity as the officers searched the upscale home for evidence, detaining three employees of the owner and combing the grounds for their ultimate trophy: the owner himself. But as the hours dragged on and with success no closer than when they had arrived, the task force shoved off from the beach and departed without their prize.

Impact Future Media (IMPFM.com) today announced that pop-culture icon and subject / author of Grazing in the Grass Until the Snow Came, which was adapted for Ted Demme’s blockbuster film Blow, “Boston George” Jung has been tapped to write No Domain, the official biography of famed antivirus software pioneer and controversial figure John McAfee

“We are honored to be working with George Jung on this once in a lifetime project,” stated François Garcia, CEO and Co-founder of Impact Future Media. “Most people know George for being an outlaw, but behind that sits a man who is also one hell of a writer. He is the perfect person to spin this yarn about the enigmatic John McAfee.”

Johnny Depp once said of Jung, “To Otisville Federal Correctional Institute, he is merely Inmate #19225-004. To me, he is not a number, he’s not a convict, and he’s not a criminal. Nicknamed “Boston George,” Jung is primarily known for being a major player in the cocaine trade in the U.S. in the 1970s and early 1980s. He specialized in the smuggling of cocaine from Columbia on a large scale and was a part of the Medellin Cartel. If you snorted cocaine in the late 70s or early 80s, there was an 85 percent chance it came from Jung.

“John McAfee has lived a spectacular life, turning unbelievable dreams into actuality,” stated George Jung. “In telling his tale I feel that he is now a trusted brother and familiar soul. I am not easily won over, but John’s story is like none I have ever known. John is a voice of all generations, and is an aristocrat beyond adjectives.”

Telésforo Guerra Passes Away

“It is with great sorrow that I report the death of one of the greatest lawyers in the Americas, and former Attorney General for the country of Guatemala. A man who undoubtedly saved my life and my sanity!”

On Sunday, April 21, 2013 Telésforo Guerra Cahn (76) passed away peacefully in Guatemala city after a final battle with stomach cancer. My most heartfelt sympathies go out to Mr. Guerra’s family, friends and colleagues.
